It is the last week of my time at Calvin. One week from right now, I will be done with my classes and exams (except for that pesky PE class that will go into the summer). It’s the end, but somehow I don’t want it to be over. Many of my friends are so eager to finish, and put college behind them. To move on to “The Real World”. They want to get their piece of paper and move on with life.
But I’ve never seen college as a piece of paper, as a degree or job training. It might contain all of those things, but for me it is a time where I can dedicate myself to personal growth and improvement. Perhaps it is vain to think that I am worthy of such dedication, but I don’t want it to end. I know that I’m not done with school, becuase graduate school is yet to come, but at the same time, I’m done with a phase in my schooling, a phase I really liked. And I think I will mourn its passing.
